Deloitte Quantum is launching a four-week virtual hackathon (March 16 – April 10) where university students collaborate with experts from Deloitte, AWS, and IBM to apply quantum technologies to real sustainability problems. This year’s focus is California wildfire risk: US university student teams will build quantum machine learning models using historical data and translate risk scores into insurance premium forecasts. Join the Deloitte walkthrough, AWS and IBM skills sessions, and office hours to learn about approaches and tools available for the challenge.

1. Deloitte Quantum Machine Learning Walkthrough — Wednesday, March 18, 2026, 12:00 - 12:40 p.m. ET
  • An overview of the challenge datasets
  • Tips on how to apply QML approaches to the datasets to address the challenge tasks
