The Humanistic Workplace
The humanistic workplace is one in which workers are appreciated as human beings to be respected, valued, and developed—not resources to be managed and deployed. Such a workplace is characterized by respect for the dignity of individuals, nuanced understanding of the various stakeholders of a modern organization, and acceptance of the role of the organization as a social enterprise. In this track, we’ll explore the practical applications of a humanistic approach to the employee experience, including a focus on holistic employee well-being, an appreciation of employees as unique and diverse individuals, a recognition-rich culture, and a comfortable and enabling physical working environment—all supporting enhanced productivity and more seamless work/life transitions.
SESSION #1 | The Future Human Workplace: Creating Cultures that Work
Have you heard “Employees are our greatest assets” and “Customer always come first,” yet actions say otherwise? Despite good intent, putting this vision into action is difficult. Why? Many organizational cultures are employER centered. There is a clear correlation between positive employee and customer experiences and it is critical to shift focus to more human-centered approaches to drive business impact.
SESSION #2 | Diagnosing Your Organization’s Wellbeing
Wellbeing is a strategic business imperative that is critical to employer brand and culture, and organizations that have a purposeful and holistic wellbeing strategy that provides support to address their employee’s physical, financial, mental and socials needs tend to outperform their competitors. In fact, according to Bersin by Deloitte’s High-Impact Rewards (HIR) research, high performing organizations are 11 times more likely to have a broad employee wellbeing strategy that extends beyond traditional physical wellness than their lower-performing counterparts. Through this session, we will discuss Deloitte’s Unified Wellbeing framework, followed by hands-on self-assessment of participant organizations vs. the four pillars of the framework. Finally, participants will have the opportunity to collaborate and discuss unique organizational challenges and address organizational readiness for change on the wellbeing front.
